(Canton, GA) Today, conservative Republican Steve West, a businessman and Cherokee County commissioner, launched his campaign for the upcoming special election in State Senate District 21.
West has served as Cherokee County’s District 1 commissioner since 2014. With his announcement, West also released a host of endorsements from current and former county officials, including Sheriff Frank Reynolds.
“When I need backup, I call Steve West. He’s conservative to the core, and he delivers on his promises. That’s why Steve West has my full endorsement, and I urge everyone to vote for Steve in the special election,” said Reynolds.
West says that if elected, he will support Governor Kemp’s efforts to lower taxes, crack down on illegal immigration, and block the radical Left’s dangerous agenda in our state.
“I’m not afraid to tell folks the truth, and I’m fine with not being a typical politician,” stated West. “I’m running to be the next State Senator for Cherokee and Fulton Counties because I think straight-forward, unfiltered representation is what voters are looking for these days. While some other candidates in this race will try to buy the election, I plan to put in the work hard work to talk to voters and earn the job.”
West is launching his campaign with nearly two dozen endorsements, including Sheriff Reynolds, Cherokee commissioners Benny Carter, Richard Weatherby, and Corey Ragsdale, Ball Ground Mayor Rick Roberts, Waleska Mayor Mary Helen Lamb, Clerk of Court Patty Baker, Tax Commissioner Denise Mastroserio, Solicitor General Todd Hayes, Coroner Sally Sims, Billy Hasty, Dr. Austin Flint, and others.
